PA Dog Kennel Legislation, Wire Floors

In 2008 Governor Rendell, a big animal lover having built his own rescue shelter, signed a nearly perfect dog legislation into law. Many puppy mills just went out of business rather than try to comply with the law. One of the mandates was no wire flooring in kennels, period, but that has been “interpreted” differently…. Please read and send your comments to the Animal Law Coalition to support overturning this ruling.

When Gov. Rendell signed the dog law outside a Philadelphia area veterinary clinic on Oct. 9, 2008, surrounded by lawmakers and animal advocates, he proclaimed it marked the end of wire cage flooring for adult breeding dogs.
