Using Feral Cats to Teach Handling Wildlife?

MikoAn interesting idea at Utah’s Brigham Young University where students trap and tag feral cats on campus and beyond on their way to learning how to trap and tag wildlife. In return, the university’s veterinary school spays and neuters the cats at no charge, giving veterinary students practice in spay and neuter. Sounds like a win-win, and if it’s managed in a way that remains humane to the cats, it could be a very positive thing—if it remains humane and doesn’t turn into an extermination event.
